ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING
JULY 7, 2003
The Bangor Township Board of Education held its Organizational Meeting on Monday, July 7, 2003, at Christa McAuliffe Middle School. Mr. Kowalski called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Members Present: Dawn Klida, Richard Kowalski, John Loop, Terrence O’Hare, George Thomas, Barbara Skowronski, and Scott Sturm

approval of minutes - june 23, 2003 (public hearing and regular meeting)
A motion was made by Terrence O’Hare, supported by Dawn Klida, to approve the
minutes for the June 23, 2003, public hearing and regular meeting. Motion
carried unanimously.
introduction of newly elected board member - barbara skowronski
Mr. Kowalski introduced newly-elected Board member, Barbara Skowronski.

election of officers
President: Nominations for President of the Board were opened by Mr. Kowalski.
A motion was made by
George Thomas, supported by Scott Sturm, to nominate Richard Kowalski for
President of the Board. There were no other nominations. Motion carried
unanimously.
Mr. Kowalski was declared President.
Vice-President: Nominations for Vice-President were opened.
A motion was made by Dawn
Klida, supported by Terrence O’Hare, to nominate George Thomas for
Vice-President of the Board. There were no other nominations. Motion
carried unanimously.
Mr. Thomas was declared Vice-President:
Secretary: Nominations for Secretary were opened.
A motion was made by
Terrence O’Hare, supported by Barbara Skowronski, to nominate Dawn Klida for
Secretary to the Board. There were no other nominations. Motion
carried unanimously.
Mrs. Klida was declared Secretary.
Treasurer: Nominations for Treasurer were opened.
A motion was made by
George Thomas, supported by Richard Kowalski, to nominate Terrence O’Hare, as
Treasurer to the Board. There were no other nominations. Motion
carried unanimously.
Mr. O’Hare was declared Treasurer.

A motion was made by George Thomas, supported by Terrence O’Hare, to approve the following items:
a. Appoint Cara Barcia, Administrative Assistant, and Pete Lazaroff, Superintendent (alternate), as recording secretaries to the Board.
b. Retain the law firms of Thrun, Maatsch, Nordberg of Lansing; Allsopp, Kolka, and Wackerly of Bay City; Masud, Gilbert and Patterson of Saginaw; and LaPointe and Associates, PC of Okemos for the 2003/04 school year with the same protocols and procedures as in previous year.
c. Retain the firm of Yeo and Yeo as the auditing firm for the district for the 2003/2004 school years.
d. The following institutions be designated as authorized depositories for the General Fund and all other funds: Citizens Bank, National City Bank, and Michigan Liquid Asset Fund Plus with Pete L. Lazaroff, Michael Andress, Steve Lenar, and the Board Treasurer as authorized check signers.
e. Delegate school election duties to Pete Lazaroff, Steve Lenar, and Cara Barcia.
f. Approve the dates and times of the regular monthly meetings and work sessions of the Bangor Township Board of Education for the 2003/2004 school year.
g. Designate Cara Barcia, or her alternate, as the person responsible for posting Board meeting notices.
Motion carried unanimously.
