January Student of the Month: Jennifer Ostermann

The BTVS January student of the month recipient is 8th grader Jennifer Ostermann.  Jennifer has performed over the last 2 years as THE model student of an online learner.  We are extremely proud to have Jennifer as a part of the Bangor family, and look forward to watching her continue to grow!

My name is Jennifer Ostermann. I am in eighth grade and my family/friends usually call me Jenny, however I most often go by Jenn. I believe that I earned student of the month by working ahead of schedule and maintaining all A's. It feels really great to become student of the month, especially after all the hard work I have put in these past few months. My family is very proud of my accomplishment and overall diligence. What makes me unique is that not only do I manage my schoolwork, but I also manage figure skating as well. For fun, I like to figure skate, play with my dog, do makeup, watch YouTube, edit, etc. What I like best about virtual school is that I can a. go at my own pace and b. pursue my passion of skating. My best advice for anyone trying to earn student of the month is simply to try your best and be willing to put in the work. Success isn't something that is just handed to you; YOU have to make it happen. Do I think anyone can earn student of the month? Of course! If I can maintain all A's while being ahead and going to figure skating practices often, I'm sure anyone can earn this award. Once again, it's all about being willing to put in the work. I have received many figure skating medals as well as many honor roll awards.
