Members of a board of education for a general powers school district are elected by the voters of a community for terms of six years, as provided by the school district's bylaws. School Board members begin their terms in January, following their November election.

EDUCATION: RN MSA COHN-SFAAOHN; Delta College School of Nursing, RN; Saginaw Valley State University, BA in Psychology (Magna Cum Laude); Central Michigan University, MSA in Health Care Administration; Served in US Army 1968-1969, Republic of Vietnam, Combat Medic Mr. Kowalski became a board member to improve the education of Bangor students. He invites members of the Bangor community to consider volunteering anytime in the schools. The students would love the interactions!
FAMILY: Wife, Claudine; two sons, Aaron and Scott, both graduates of John Glenn High School; two grandsons, Jacob and Noah, both students of Bangor Township.
HOBBIES/INTERESTS: Enjoying grandchildren & life

EDUCATION: Graduated in 1968, Bay City Central; Graduated in 1972, Central Michigan University, BS in Education (Magna Cum Laude)
HOBBIES/INTERESTS: reading (Historic Lit.), golf
Mr. Loop became a board member because he believes he can help Bangor Township Schools reach its potential to become the finest school district in northeastern Michigan. He feels that having taught and coached in the district for 31 years gives him some perspectives that might help that goal become a reality.
Mr. Loop’s goals as a board member are:
- To see Bangor Township Schools become the elite educational institution/district in northeastern Michigan.
- MAINTAIN and IMPROVE Bangor’s programs despite the uncertainty of financial times in the state of Michigan.
- Provide our students with state-of-the-art facilities to improve the learning environment of Bangor Township Schools.

Mr. BriaN gALLAGHER

EDUCATION: Graduate of John Glenn High School (1998), Bacehlor’s of Science from Saginaw Valley State University (2002), and a Master’s of Science - Physicians Assistant from Central Michigan Univeristy (2004).
FAMILY: wife - Theresa, and three children - Lauren, William, and Katherine, all students of Bangor Township Schools.
HOBBIES/INTERESTS: After serving the Bay Region for over 10 years as a family practice and emergency medicine PA, have began serving at the Chief Clinical Officer for TribalEM managing, staffing and working in emergency departments on Native American land. When not working, he is in the auditorium, natitorium or the stands at Bangor Township sporting events cheering on the Bobcats and supporting his children in their theater performances and athletic events. He also enjoys golf and being on the water in the Bangor Township region.

HOBBIES/INTERESTS: Attending athletic events of his children, woodworking, construction projects
Mr. Tobin became a board member to help Bangor Township Schools become the “best” school district in the area.
Mr. Tobin’s goals as a board member are:
- To focus on and improve the district’s academic performance.
- Assist in keeping the financial aspect of the district sound.
- Ensure the district’s buildings and grounds are functional and well maintained.
Mr. Jason Forgash

EDUCATION: Graduated from Ferris State University in 1991 with a Bachelor's of Science degree. Jason is currently the President and COO of Bay Plastics Machinery in Bangor Township.
FAMILY: Married to Margaret Forgash. Two children; Dakota and Garett
Mr. Forgash moved back to Bangor with his family in 2005. After enrolling both of his children in the Bangor Township Schools, he became more and more interested in the district - its successes and its struggles. He hopes to become more active in working with the administration to continue to improve the education and extracurricular activities for the students of this district.

Mr. Shaffer became a board member because he knows he can provide positive input and direction in very difficult economic times. Mr. Shaffer’s goal as a board member is to provide Bangor’s students with the best possible programs and educational opportunities that we can.
