John Glenn Seniors and Families,

After much deliberation, we have decided to make a change to our 2nd Semester Exam procedures for Seniors this year and moving forward. All Seniors will be exempt from taking their exams in all of their subjects. The only two exceptions to this are if they need to take the exam to pass the class, or if the student would like to take the exam to try and better their grade. If they decide on the second option, it is up to the student to arrange a time with their teacher to take the exam. The exam will not hurt their grade, it will only be counted if it helps it.

All students in AP classes will still need to take their AP test as that is a separate entity from the John Glenn High School Exams and a required portion of taking those classes.

We have decided to do this for a couple of reasons. First, with Seniors last day being May 22nd this year, and graduation being the 29th, Seniors would be taking their exams much earlier than others. Secondly, by this point, most Seniors have made the decision with what they want to do after high school and a final exam does not have much bearing on that. Lastly, this can be a reward and thank you for four wonderful years at John Glenn and a nice perk of being a Senior.
