December Student of the Month: Hunter Miller

I am very grateful for having such an honor being given to me.   My name is Hunter Miller, My friends call me Hunter, and I'm in the 12th grade.  I think I earned Student of the Month because of how well I meet the criteria for this honor.

It was actually a surprise because I was wondering if I would get student of the month before I graduated. Receiving this honor has a satisfactory feeling of knowing that you've been noticed for your hard work.  My grandma was overjoyed when I read her the email, and my mom said she was happy to hear the news.

I don't know what makes me so unique, I'm usually just being myself. I owe it to my family for making me the person I am, because they raised me up to be the person that most of you see today. I am truly grateful for them.

What I do for fun is play video games with my friends that are from the southern half Michigan. When I'm not working on school, I'm talking with them, and trying to get better at some of the games we play.

The best thing about virtual school is that you can choose what classes you're going to be taking in your next semesters, and working at your own pace is also a huge plus. But also for BTVS, I like that fact that there's a drop-in center that can allow you to go into an actual school and talk with people you know.

If you're trying to earn student of the month, don't just think about the work you're getting done today. Think about the work you can get done today for tomorrow, and keep that going till the end of the week. And when the next week starts, keep that going. getting one extra lesson done from the next day gives you time to get another lesson or two done that next day, which keeps going and going if you're diligent and determined enough.

I know that anyone can get student of the month, you just have to put in a little extra work till they notice your hard work.  I've earn many honors, but the biggest of them all was when I earn my Eagle scout rank in the Boy Scout of America. I started working on this award when I was 10, and finished it when I was 14. Not only did I feel great when I was done, but myself and my twin brother were very happy to have completed such an award at such a young age.
