Oral Health Assessment Requirement

In accordance with Public Act 316 of 2023, all children entering Kindergarten are now required to have a dental assessment completed.

This quick, painless check helps ensure your child is ready for school and promotes lifelong oral health. Like vision and hearing screenings, this assessment must be completed by a licensed dental professional.

Already visited the dentist?

If your child had a dental visit within 6 months of starting Kindergarten, you can simply turn in the KOHA form completed by your provider.

If your child does not have a regular dentist, visit the Dental Referral List for local options.

Please ensure your child’s completed dental form is turned in before the start of the school year.

Building Placement Process

We have three great elementary school options in our Bobcat Nation. While many assume their child will automatically attend the school closest to home, our district carefully balances enrollment across our three elementary schools to manage class sizes and ensure the best learning experience for all students.

How Placement Works:

  • Current Young Fives Students are placed first.

  • New Kindergarten & Young Fives Students are placed in early June after kindergarten screening, in order of enrollment. Priority is given to students with an older sibling already attending a school.

When enrolling, be sure to indicate your building preference and list any siblings currently attending a school. While we do our best to accommodate requests, placement is based on enrollment date and sibling priority. Fear not, no matter where your child is placed, they’ll be in great hands at one of our three wonderful elementary schools!

Thank you for understanding as we work to create the best learning environment for all students!

Screening for Placement
