Mrs. Schafers chemistry class had the opportunity to learn about the science of plastics last week! PlastiVan visited all of her classes throughout the day, the students were able to complete mini labs to aid their science learning. These mini labs included putting a stick through a balloon, mixing ingredients to create slime, heating up plastic to create bouncy balls, and cleaning up small oil spills. During the PlastiVan presentation they learned more about different monomers and polymers as well as exothermic and endothermic reactions.
Barney the Bobcat was also able to get into the chemistry action! Thank you Mrs. Schafer and Plastivan for educating our students in a hands-on way!
