• Reminder, there is no school on Monday, May 25th, enjoy the long weekend!

• Attention current 6th and 7th graders interested in the summer soccer program! Soccer tryouts will take place on Monday, June 8th at the grass field at John Glenn High School. Tryout times are 3:00–4:00 for next year’s 7th graders, 4:15–5:15 for next year’s 8th graders, and 5:30–6:30 for next year’s 6th graders. Players must have shin guards, soccer cleats, and a current sports physical to participate. You can sign up using the tryout form and email physicals to Mr. Albrecht before tryouts or bring a copy with you that day. The sign-up form has been emailed to your parents!

• Attention 8th graders: we are holding an 8th dance on Friday, May 29th from 6-9pm. There are posters throughout the 8th grade hallway with a QR code for you to purchase your $5 ticket. The link to purchase tickets is also posted in the 8th Grade 2026 Google Classroom page. Ticket prices will increase to $10 after May 28th. The theme is a mid- summer night dream. The dress code is semi-formal. Only 8th grade students who attend CMMS will be able to attend the dance. 

• Attention 8th Graders: We will be celebrating you all on Tuesday, June 2nd.  We will be spending part of our morning in the auditorium at John Glenn with your friends and family.  After lunch, we will be going bowling at Monitor Lanes.  To be eligible to go on the trip you must have ZERO suspensions this year and fewer than 5 write-ups.  The cost will be $8.  Direct your questions to Mr. Kasemeyer.

• ATTENTION 8th Graders … Don’t forget to sign up for the volunteer opportunity with Bay County Crime Stoppers to earn community service hours which WILL COUNT toward the required hours needed in high school if you wish to join the National Honor Society or if you plan to apply for college scholarships. Volunteers will be helping at the “RIBFEST” in late July. Don’t forget, If you sign up with a friend you will be assigned to work together! Volunteers will receive Little Caesar’s Pizza, Gatorade and ice water, and a  free admission wrist band for all four days of the Ribfest. Please pick up a sign up form from the CMMS Office. 

• Lunch today is Grab & Go -OR- Soup and Sub Bar -OR- the main choice line, Tostada, Spanish Rice,  Salad Bar, and your choice of Milk. 

• We’d like to wish a Happy Birthday today, and this weekend, to: Victoria , Adelynn , Shiloh , Georgia , Terra , Chloe , Emalynn , Brody , Rikter , Jase , and Jorden. Please come down to the office after announcements to pick up your birthday gift.

• Are you ready to explore the world beyond the classroom? Whether you dream of visiting historic landmarks, trying new foods, or just experiencing a new city with your friends, the CMMS Travel Club is the place for you! See Dr. Palomino for more information.

Volunteers will be helping at the “RIBFEST” in late July by directing cars where to park. If you sign up with a friend you will be assigned to work together! Volunteers will receive Little Caesar’s Pizza, Gatorade and ice water throughout the day as well as a free admission wrist band for all four days of the ribfest. This is a super fun and easy way to earn those valuable community service hours! If you are interested you may pick up a sign up form from the CMMS Office. Once completed, please return it to the office and you will get a phone call this summer prior to the RIBFEST to see if and when you want to help.  Sign up forms are in the office!
