This is Shawna Young's first year as a preschool classroom aide 🤍💙 Her favorite teacher growing up was Mr. Sawicki - he always had a fun and positive energy to him. After work, Miss Shawna can be found curled up on the couch with a soft blanket and a book reading 🥰 I asked Miss Shawna what made her want to work with preschoolers? She said growing up she always loved the younger kids and loves seeing how much they grow! 🌱 If she weren't a teacher, Miss Shawna would pick up her camera and get back into photography 📷

Miss Keely did her student teaching at Bangor North last year and with the addition of a fourth classroom this year, is now Lead Teaching her very own preschool classroom! 🧡 Keely's most memorable teacher was her high school calculus teacher because she was someone who went above and beyond for her students 👦🏼 👧🏼 After a long day of teaching, Miss Keely likes to go on walks or listen to music 🎧 Miss Keely became a teacher because she always loved school! A chef is what Miss Keely would be if she wasn't a teacher 👩🍳 That's what she stated she wanted to hear at her own preschool graduation 😆 We are so glad to have Miss Keely on our preschool team this year!!! #teacherappreciationweek

This is Miss Ellen's first year at Bangor North. Miss Ellen is the Assistant Teacher in Room 3. Who was your favorite teacher? Mrs. Kathy Driscoll, my fourth grade teacher ♥️ She made learning fun - we did experiments and were always active. We even had a pet hamster 🐹 My dad and I made a maze for it to play in. Her funniest classroom memory from this year is when a boy said to her "Stop talking, your voice is bothering me!" 🤣 She said, at least he felt comfortable enough to be honest with me! Miss Ellen likes to garden, quilt, talk to her chickens, and quietly read after work. Miss Ellen's favorite part about being a teacher is seeing how kids view the world, teaching them how to use their words and have fun while learning, and being able to stay home with her grandson on snow days!!!

Miss Bellor joined our preschool team this year as a GSRP Lead Teacher! 🌟💝 🌟 Miss Bellor has been teaching preschool for 13 years. Mr. Blackwell was her favorite teacher growing up because he loved music and implemented it in his fifth grade classroom daily 🎶🎵🎶 One of her funniest teaching memories is when a little girl cut another little girl's hair with ✂️ from the art center 😳 How does she unwind after a day in the classroom? Loud music! Feeling misunderstood in school and not enjoying school herself is what made Miss Bellor want to become a teacher 🤗 If she could teach any other grade, it would be Young Fives or Kindergarten.

Hadley Keister from CMMS came to Bangor North today to read a story and teach the young learners about the effects of littering 💚♻️💚

Miss Courtney has been teaching preschool for 3 years. Her most memorable teachers growing up were Ms. Dziurka and Mrs. Bullock. To destress after work, Miss Courtney likes to watch documentaries, do yoga, or curl up with a good book! 📚📚 If she could teach any other grade it would be first grade. If she wasn't a teacher, you would find Miss Courtney being a travel blogger!!

It's Teacher Appreciation Week 📚✂️✏️🚌🖍️ Meet Ms. Sarah, who has been teaching now for 10 years! Mrs. Neetz, her sixth grade teacher, was her favorite because she struggled with reading and Mrs. Neetz was always so nice and would take time to help her get through things. You could tell she loved teaching! ❤️🍎❤️ She also loved Scooby-Doo and her whole classroom was decorated with different Scooby-Doo things. I asked Ms. Sarah how she destresses after work and she said by listening to music on the drive home and then changing into comfy clothes and relaxing with her dog 🎶 🐕 What made Ms. Sarah want to become a teacher was a special education in her elementary school who made her feel like she could do anything, even when she was struggling. She made school fun 🫶 I asked Ms. Sarah what grade she would like to teach other than preschool. She said special education 🌈

Meet Amanda Zelno, in her first year as Teacher Assistant at Bangor North Preschool! 😎 Her most memorable teacher is her eighth grade history teacher, Mr. Greer. Ms. Amanda uses Yoga to relax after a long day of teaching 😌 What made Ms. Amanda want to become a teacher? She started as a parent volunteer at her sons' school, working in the lunchroom and subbing in classrooms, and really liked it! 🤓 "The opportunity to apply at the preschool came up and I honestly fell in love with it" (And we're so glad she applied!) Her second job choice would have been a paralegal in a law office. 📝

In honor of Teacher Appreciation week, I asked Ms. Tami the following questions: How long have you been teaching preschool? 20 years 😃 Who was your most memorable teacher growing up? Ms. Brown, my third grade teacher. She made me feel special and loved. 💗💗💗💗What's the funniest thing a student has said or done? Two preschoolers were arguing. One ended up saying "I'm sorry" and the other one started singing a popular song at the time that says "It's too late to apologize." 😆 What made you want to become a teacher? I was fascinated by brain development in the early years, especially in young children. I wanted to make a difference in children's lives. 💙🐾 If you could teach any other grade, which would you choose? Probably third grade. I was a paraprofessional in third grade, and I loved that age! 🍎🍏If you weren't a teacher, what would you be doing? I would be a vet tech. I love animals! 🐶
