This is just a friendly reminder that 7th and 8th grade registration will be taking place tomorrow from 9-11 & 1-3. There will also be an all grade levels registration from 4-6. We would ask that you bring your own pen as there will be a few items of paperwork for you to complete. This will help us reduce the number of sanitized pens that we will need to have available. Also, if you have chosen to move your CMMS student(s) to the Virtual School, you do not need to attend this registration. You will receive all of your materials and Chromebook directly from the Virtual School.

Dear Parents of Incoming 6th Graders,
Normally at this point prior to the start of the upcoming school year we would host a 6th grade orientation night for our parents and students. Due to current restrictions and circumstances we are unable to have this face to face presentation to introduce you and your 6th grader to all of the great things they will experience at Christa McAuliffe Middle School. So for that reason we put together a virtual presentation to walk you through all of the items that we would normally talk about during our 6th grade orientation night. Here is the link to that presentation.

We realize that you may still have many questions about the upcoming school year and some of the things that will be different. There is a parent question and answer document on our district website that may help answer many of your questions and it can also be accessed via the link below.

Now that the governor's executive order has been lifted and students are allowed on campus, we are going to move forward with gym locker clean outs. Gym locker clean out for both boys and girls will be on Tuesday, June 9th from 2pm to 6pm. You will enter through the normal student drop off loop and enter the building through the east entry doors. You must wear a mask to enter the school. If you do not remember the combination for your lock, we will have bolt cutters available. In addition, we will also have athletic pictures to distribute for the volleyball and boys swim teams. All that you have to do is pull up in the student drop off lane and request your pictures from the staff member that greets you.

Attention CMMS Ed Mueller Award nominees. We will have your certificates available for you to pick up tomorrow (Thursday) during the 8th grade drive thru clap out that starts at 6:00pm. All that you need to do is go through the line and stop at the pedestrian cross walk/speed bump right in front of the school and a staff member will present you with your certificate. Congratulations once again to all of our nominees.

Summer Book Study: this is an independent book study Fallen Angels by Walter Dean Myers. Topic: a teen who fights in the Vietnam War. We will place paperback copies at Edison beginning June 8th. Please inquire for more information by emailing veitengruberj@bangorschoolsorg.

To honor our 8th-grade class, we will be holding a drive-thru clap out on: Thursday, June 4 at 6:00 P.M.
Parents will line up in their vehicles in the parent drop off loop and the main parking lot starting at 5:45. The clap out will start promptly at 6:00. Families should follow the vehicle in front of them starting in the parent drop off loop, then head through the bus lane, and exiting at the drive between CMMS and JGHS.
All students and families will stay in their vehicles while teachers honor social distancing guidelines along the sidewalk between CMMS and JGHS.
This event is only for 8th-grade families and CMMS staff. No family members, friends, or staff should line up along Kiesel Road or exit vehicles at any point during the event.
We look forward to celebrating our awesome studentβs accomplishments!

Our final locker clean out day at the middle school takes place tomorrow (Thursday) from 11:00 to 7:00 for students whose last names begin with N through Z. Locker assignments are posted to Skyward and please remember to bring a mask or cloth to cover your nose and mouth. Any and all students that have textbooks or school supplies that need to be dropped off may do so during the locker clean out times tomorrow by pulling into the parking lot and placing the items on the table under the blue awning.

Just a friendly reminder that locker clean out for students with last names that begin with G through M is tomorrow (Tuesday) from noon to 8pm. Locker assignments are posted to Skyward and please make sure to bring a mask or cloth to cover your nose and mouth.

Tune in to our Facebook page on Friday, May 15th at 6:00pm for a Facebook live event where we will announce the two winners of the Ed Mueller award.

We wanted to provide a couple of clarifying details regarding locker clean outs at CMMS:
1. There will not be access to gym lockers or items in classrooms during this time. We want to make the process as quick and efficient as possible and get people in and out. We are hoping to have students be able to come into the building to clean out gym lockers and get items left in classrooms after June 13th.
2. Due to the stay at home orders our yearbook company and photography company have been unable to print and deliver our yearbooks and athletic pictures. If they get delivered before the locker clean out days we will have them available for you to pick up.
3. There will be bins under the main entrance awning for you to drop of any and all school items. This includes textbooks, library books, sheet music, athletic uniforms, etc.
4. Yes, everyone must have a mask or cloth that covers the mouth and nose to enter the building. No exceptions on this expectation. This is for the safety of our staff and everyone else that is entering the building on these days.
If you have any additional questions about locker clean out please email Principal Kevin Biskup at biskupk@bangorschools.org

Even though we are in uncharted waters in education right now, we are still going to hold true to one of our building awards and traditions in the Ed Mueller Award. The Ed Mueller Award is the most prestigious award that can be given to an 8th grade student. This award is given to one 8th grade boy and one 8th grade girl each year. The award is given to students that are overall good citizens of CMMS, is a good student (not necessarily an all A student), and a student who has contributed to the positive culture at CMMS.
We will be announcing the nominees for the Ed Mueller award during a special live streaming event tomorrow (Tuesday) at 6pm on our CMMS Facebook Page. Tune in tomorrow to hear the list of nomineess. The one boy and one girl that are chosen as the award recipients will be announced in a similar format later this week. See you tomorrow at 6pm.

Do you know anyone that wants to become part of Bobcat Nation, but doesn't live in Bangor Township? If you do, please have them consider submitting a school of choice application for the 2020-2021 school year. We encourage those interested to submit an application in the new digital format via the link below. ** Letβs help our Bangor Twp own Ms. Bay County Larkin Hubert!π
Hi everyone, my name is Larkin Hubert and I am the current Miss Bay County and a proud alumni of Bangor Township schools. During this period of social distancing I have been focusing on how to inform others about my social impact initiative βBeYOUtiful; A Confidence Missionβ which is centered around connecting your mental health and passions in life to find true self love. I wanted to ask you guys to help me with a little a project Iβm doing for my miss bay county account.
I was hoping that you could send me a picture of yourself holding up a piece of paper that says one of the three things:
βI feel most confident when....β
βI love myself because...β
β..... makes me confidentβ
And then youβd fill in the blanks.
I would just need these by the end of the day Sunday. Iβm really excited about this so if youβre interested you can email me your pictures here and follow my accounts on Facebook and Instagram: @missbaycounty to see the project all come together!
Thank you to anyone who is willing to participate.
