JGHS Parents and Students,
Registration for the 2nd session (July 18-August 12) of summer school is now open. If your JGHS student failed any of the courses required for graduation (math, science, ELA, social studies, foreign language, health, fitness), they will need to recover those credits during summer school in order to graduate. Credits not recovered during summer school would then have to be earned during the next school year which could mean the loss of electives and other opportunities such as attending the Career Center. Second semester report cards should be arriving in the mail at some point this week. If your student received an E in any of the courses required for graduation in the “S2” column of the report card, we ask that you please sign them up for summer school in that course(s). If you have any questions about summer school please reach out to our summer school teachers Amy Schmidt and Ann Vayre at schmidta@bangorschools.org or vayrea@bangorschools.org.

Attention JGHS students! There is an opportunity to volunteer for Summer 2022! The formerly called ‘Camp Meadows’ (name changed to ‘Blooming Meadows’) will be held June 20th through July 27th, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, 10 AM to 1:45 PM; no session on Monday, July 4th. Please pick up forms in the main office if interested!
Hope to see/work with you this Summer as you interact with the individuals having special needs. Your hours will be recorded for your use as Community Service Hours and/or your applications for college or tech schools.
Notes:
Blooming Meadows is now being sponsored by Disability Services Resource Center, 1820 North Trumbull Drive, Bay City, 4806 (989-895-5444); Executive Director - Gail Frahm. Due to State licensing rules, the name needed to be changed. Formerly, Camp Meadows was sponsored by the YWCA - Great Lakes Bay Region.
The change of place is due to current construction being done at Bush School; we will be holding the Programs at Linsday School, 607 LaSalle, Bay City, 48706.
Inservice will be held the day each volunteer volunteers for the first time for the Summer. Please be at Linsday School at 9:30 AM on your first day of volunteering.
Any questions/concerns, please feel free to contact me.
