JGHS Students and Families,
Last night the Board of Education voted on our model of learning for the month of May. They decided to continue with Remote Learning with the option of attending school in person. This has been the model that we have been following all semester, minus the past three weeks. As of now we will assume that your student will continue with their prior commitment starting May 3rd. If they were attending in person we will assume that they will be coming back to the building, if they were learning from home we will assume that they will continue learning from home. If you would like to change your student’s commitment either way, please contact us in the main office and we will get that changed for you. The phone number is 989-684-7510 and my email is mcpeakd@bangorschools.org. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Have a great day!

Attention Seniors, Sarah Rogers from Spherion in Midland will be hosting a virtual meeting about employment options after high school. Must be 18. The meeting will be held Friday 4/30/21 at 11:00am. The google meet link is below:

Message from Delta regarding Dual Enrollment/Early Middle College Registration:
Thank you for your understanding regarding the delay of registration. Students should check carefully as some classes may change prior to when registration begins, particularly related to how some courses are delivered (online, blended, in-person, etc.). The registration dates have been updated as follows:
· Dual enrollment priority registration will be April 8 and 9
· Priority registration by credits will be April 13-15
· Open registration will begin April 16
As a reminder, students must now electronically sign the “Student Financial Responsibility Agreement” before they can register. If they have not, they will see a flag on their account (upper right hand corner).

Current 6th and 7th grade CMMS students interested in playing CMMS Soccer next year - We are hosting an informational meeting Thursday March 18th at 7 pm in the JGHS Auditorium to gauge interest and see if we have enough numbers to start a team. Details attached in the photo.

Good Morning JGHS Students and Families,
What a beautiful drive in this morning! The sunrise was gorgeous and it feels like we are on the verge of Spring! Sadly, we will be back to dark morning drives for a bit because of Daylight Savings Time this weekend (don't forget to spring forward). However, I always love when the light sticks around a little longer in the evening each day. Things just seem to be getting better and we seem to be nearing something resembling normal with each passing day. We hope that you had a good Parent-Teacher Conference last night. Please know all staff is available to conference and answer any questions throughout the school year through email and phone. Do not hesitate to reach out if there are ever any issues you need addressed or questions you need answered. Here are this week's updates:
1. No school Monday! Make sure to rest up and recharge this weekend! We have a two-week sprint to Spring Break!
2. We are continuing to see our numbers of students go up. We were at 37% of our student body that was in school this week. Please reach out to me at mcpeakd@bangorschools.org or call the main office if you would like to change your commitment. I imagine we will be close to 40% next week. Let's stay vigilant with following our Covid guidelines and procedures. We cannot afford to relax on this and we need all students to take it seriously. With numbers starting to trend up, now is the time to stay on top of this and ensure the safety of everyone.
I hope all of you have a wonderful and restful weekend!

NEWS FROM SVSU!
SVSU admissions has some BIG news to share! Saginaw Valley State University sees the value of every student and is dedicated to helping them pursue a first-class college education. We believe that the cost of tuition should not be a barrier to higher education. That’s why we are introducing The SVSU Cardinal Commitment for first time college students beginning Fall 2021.
We know that family income shouldn’t limit academic and career ambitions, so we are providing FREE TUITION for qualifying Michigan families with a Family Adjusted Gross Income of $0 - $50,000, as reported on the FAFSA. Qualifying students will receive FULL TUITION and mandatory university fees covered for up to a total of four years. Financial aid may include funding such as institutional scholarships, grants, and non-SVSU tuition scholarships. If there is any gap in tuition left unpaid, SVSU will cover the difference so there is no cost to the student.
Students can see if they qualify by taking three easy steps:
1. Apply to SVSU
2. Get Admitted
3. Complete the FAFSA
We are committed to making the life-changing education and endless opportunities we provide accessible to all, regardless of income level. We’re here to support your school and we want your students to join our Cardinal community. Let’s work together to break down barriers and help our students on the path to their future.
