A HUGE thank you to the Disability Services Resource Center for providing Disability Awareness Training to our Bobcat Recreation summer campers! All campers ages 5-12 were able to learn about disabilities (both those we see and those we don't), the tools that are needed to do everyday tasks, and learn about the difficulties people with disabilities sometimes experience. For example, campers had to attempt to open a door while using a wheelchair, carry items while using a walker, maneuver around the cafeteria with "blind glasses", write their name using a signature helper tool, and grab/open a jolly rancher candy without the use of their fingers. It was an amazing experience for all. Miss Donna from DSRC has been working with this program for years (at least 18 or so) and always does a great job answering all the kid's questions (they are super curious individuals).

988 has been designated as the new three-digit dialing code that will route callers to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (now known as the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), and is now active across the United States.
When people call, text, or chat 988, they will be connected to trained counselors that are part of the existing Lifeline network. These trained counselors will listen, understand how their problems are affecting them, provide support, and connect them to resources if necessary.
