Glenn girls golf traveled over the bridge to play Central and Garber at the Bay County Golf course. We ended up having an hour delay due to storms as they rolled through, which led to a homework session under the pavilion! Girls played well overall...and the course was like playing off a wet sponge. Team was led by Olivia Duprey and Marie Hayes with a pair of 51s. Followed up Kate Cataline's 52. Ella Turow and Priah Herek also tied up with a couple 62s, and Liya Bossbach shooting a 68.

Bobcats Battle All Day at Fowlerville Invitational, Bring Home Second-Place Trophy

The John Glenn Bobcats Boys Tennis Team put together an impressive performance Saturday as they traveled to Fowlerville to compete in a highly competitive tennis invitational featuring eight schools. The Bobcats battled from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m., showing tremendous determination, energy, and team spirit throughout the long day. When the final matches were completed, every John Glenn singles player and doubles team had earned at least one match victory, helping propel the Bobcats to an outstanding second-place team finish and a trophy to bring home to John Glenn.

The highlight of the day came at No. 1 singles, where senior co-captain Patrick Dwan battled through two incredibly close matches. Dwan found himself trailing in both matches but refused to give up, battling back to win both in straight-set tiebreakers. His determination earned him first place in his flight and provided one of the most exciting moments of the entire invitational. Patrick was undefeated on the day.

Thomas Dwan, also captured a first-place finish, winning three consecutive matches to take the top spot in his flight. Thomas remained composed throughout the day and finished the invitational undefeated.

At No. 3 singles, Brady Petrimoulx battled his way to a second-place medal, continuing an impressive season for the Bobcats.

Jack Pfeiffer also had a strong showing at No. 3 singles, earning third place after defeating two of his three opponents.

The Bobcats’ doubles teams were also a major part of the team’s success. Match victories on the day came from: * Corbin Sanborn & Brandon Wood * Karter Box & Henry Remington * Aiden Hellybuyck & Brayden Grzegorczyk * Gage Bauer & Landon Debo

Coach Miller was extremely proud of the effort displayed by the entire team. β€œToday was a great day of Bobcat tennis,” said Coach Miller. β€œWe played for 10 hours, and our guys continued to compete, support one another, and fight for every point. To have every singles player and doubles team come away with a match win says a lot about this team. Finishing second out of eight schools is something these guys should be very proud of.” After nearly a full day of tennis, the Bobcats returned home with plenty to celebrate β€” flight champions, individual medals, and a second-place team trophy. It was a long day, but it was a great day to be a Bobcat!

 Way to go, Bobcats! 🐾🎾

The John Glenn JV volleyball team showed exactly what they are capable of last night, rising to the occasion when it mattered most and bringing home the Bay County JV Tournament Championship!
We have been spending time working on running different plays and creating more variety within our offense. Tonight, we saw that work come to life. The team did a great job executing different options.
One of the biggest highlights of the night was the middle-setter connection. Watching that connection develop has been so rewarding, and tonight it was on full display.
I could not be more proud of this group and tonight they proved that when you stay focused, trust your teammates, and always move on to the next play, great things can happen.

πŸ“Έ District Photography ProceduresπŸ“Έ

As we begin a new school year, we want to notify our community of our updated photography procedures for external photographers covering district games, practices and events.

External photographers who wish to photograph from designated media areas - such as sidelines, courtside or stage areas - must complete the District Photography Approval Form and receive a district media pass. The pass must be worn at all times while photographing. Approved photographers can show their approval confirmation email and pick up their media pass at the ticket booth/check-in area.

As a reminder, this does not apply to families taking photos from bleachers, chairs or audience areas.

This process helps us prioritize student safety, privacy and a positive experience for everyone at our events. We thank you in advance for helping share this information with community partners!

Bobcats Battle Past Alma Panthers, 6-2 The John Glenn Bobcats boys tennis team battled their way to a hard-fought 6-2 dual-match victory over the Alma Panthers tonight. The Bobcats dominated the singles courts, sweeping all four singles matches, while splitting the four doubles matches. The match of the day came at No. 4 singles, where Brady Petrimoulx battled through a thrilling first-set tiebreaker before finishing strong to earn a two-set victory. Winning for the Bobcats were: Singles * Thomas Dwan * Patrick Dwan * Brady Petrimoulx * Jack Pfeiffer Doubles * Brandon Woods & Corbin Sanborn * Gage Bauer & Landon Debo Senior co-captain Patrick Dwan summed up the team’s mindset after the match: β€œThese boys know what they are capable of. They don’t need to play perfect tennis; we just need to have each other’s backs.” That team-first attitude was on full display tonight as the Bobcats fought for every point and supported one another from the first serve to the final match. Great job, Bobcats! Go Bobcats! 🐾🎾

Bobcats Battle the Wolves and Come Away With an 8-0 Sweep While most high school students were out back-to-school shopping today, the John Glenn Bobcats boys tennis team had a different plan: they were on the courts, battling the Wolves of Bay City Central. After more than two hours of intense competition, the Bobcats walked away with an impressive 8-0 sweep over Central. The victory was a great example of the hard work the Bobcats have been putting in during practice. Coach Sanborn was extremely proud of the way the team took what they had been working on and carried it directly into match play. The highlight of the afternoon came at #3 doubles, where the newly formed team of Aiden Hellybuyck and Brayden Grzegorczyk showed tremendous determination. After dropping the first set, the Bobcats battled back and ultimately won the match in a thrilling tiebreaker. That comeback was a perfect example of the fight and resilience that this Bobcats team is developing early in the season. Bobcats Winners Singles * Thomas Dwan * Patrick Dwan * Jack Pfeiffer * Brady Petrimoulx Doubles * Corbin Sanborn & Brandon Wood * Karter Box & Henry Remington * Landon Debo & Gage Bauer * Aiden Hellybuyck & Brayden Grzegorczyk An 8-0 victory is impressive, but perhaps even more encouraging was how the Bobcats earned it. From strong play at the net in doubles to smart court movement in singles, John Glenn showed that the work being put in at practice is beginning to translate when the lights come on. The Bobcats now turn their attention to what comes next, continuing to take the season one match at a time. One team. One goal. One match at a time. Go Bobcats!

Glenn girls golf traveled to a tournament at The Eldorado in Mason , which is the future site of their 2026 MHSAA Regional. The girls played well overall, placing 8th. The team was led by Kate Cataline with a 97. Second lead scorer was Marie Hayes with a 99, she had to par the last hole to break 100. Followed up by Olivia Duprey 101, Ella Turow 117, and both Liya Bossbach and Annabelle Werner shot a 134.

Neat Note: Annabelle had never played 18 holes before and opened her round with a birdie!!!

We have room for improvement, but I was pleased with the scoring considering the 6am bus departure and a foreign golf course. I know we'll shoot much better than that come October 5th!!!

Next up - August 19 - TVC Jamboree #1 at The Bay City CC.
