John Glenn Girls Golf headed to our 3rd TVC event at Valley View Farms GC on Wednesday. We had some near perfect weather matched by some really solid play...again. π
Glenn finished 3rd overall and had some new PRs as well!
Kate Cataline led the way with an 84, followed closely by Alli Caldwell with an 85. Kahlan Dutkiewicz also shot her PR with a 111 and Liya Bossbach with a 118.
Glenn fires a 374!
I'm very proud of how they are all playing. There is a lot of dedication to the team and improvement, for instance, Lauren was recently fitted for new irons and didn't have the yardages down....which led to a higher score than normal yesterday, so after our 18 holes yesterday, she went to Bay Valley and hit range to get them dialed in!

John Glenn Girls Golf traveled to Pine River Country Club in Alma for our TVC#2 Jamboree. I'm not sure why, but this course tends to eat our lunch. It has for both boys and girls teams over the years. Yesterday, it did NOT do that! We have Personal Bests from Alli Caldwell, Lauren Atkins, Kate Cataline, and Kahlan Dutkiewicz.
And with playing well, Glenn landed in 3rd place, behind Freeland and Frankenmuth.

Glenn Girls Golf traveled up to Caro and played Arrowhead Golf Club. Beautiful day on the course! Caro's coach loves using that course to his advantage...the front nine is pretty tight with woods left and right on most holes, which, when you come off rounds where hitting driver is the most prudent shot, this course challenges your iron and hybrid game off the tee.
Glenn - 221
Caro - 253
Garber - 254
Glenn stays undefeated in match play. It was nice to see them improve overall. The team bested their last year score up at Arrowhead by 11 strokes.
Glenn once again had a freshman step up and try their hand at playing some competitive golf. Marie Hayes fired a 70 on a tougher track! Solid start!

Bobcats Blank Chesaning to Stay Perfect on the Season
The John Glenn Bobcats Boys Varsity Tennis team hit the road Thursday evening and left Chesaning with another dominating performance, defeating the Indians by a convincing 8-0 margin. The Bobcats remain unbeaten on the young season.
From start to finish, Glenn controlled the courts. Every singles player and doubles team came away with victories in straight sets, never letting Chesaning gain momentum. The sweep highlighted the teamβs depth and focus as they continue their strong early-season run.
Coach Miller praised both the play and the unity developing among his squad. βLast year we had amazing boys with a lot of camaraderie. Every single match you could hear our boys cheering each other on in full support. We were the epitome of a team. While this year, although half of our players are new, I am seeing the early signs of major team bonding taking place,β Miller said.
The Bobcats now get a short break for the holiday weekend before returning to action next Wednesday when they travel to Bay City Central for what promises to be another competitive matchup.

The John Glenn Bobcats Varsity Boys Tennis team kept their winning streak alive this afternoon on their home courts, defeating the Clio High School Mustangs by a match score of 7-1. The victory marks another strong performance for the Bobcats, who remain unbeaten on the season.

Bobcats JV Boys Tennis Earn First Win of Season Over Caro
The John Glenn Bobcats JV boys tennis team earned their first victory of the season Monday afternoon on the home courts, defeating the Caro Tigers 3β0 in a rain-shortened match.
Despite the weather cutting play short, the Bobcats came out strong at every level of competition. All three completed matches went in favor of John Glenn, with players showing both energy and composure in front of their home crowd.
This yearβs JV squad features a young lineup, with more than half the roster made up of freshmen. On Monday those underclassmen rose to the occasion, stepping into key roles and delivering steady performances that contributed to the teamβs success.
βThis was a big step for our JV team,β said Coach Miller. βWeβve got a lot of new faces learning the game at this level, but theyβre proving that they can compete.β
The 3β0 win marks the Bobcatsβ first team victory of the season, giving them momentum as they look ahead to the rest of their schedule. With a mix of youth and developing talent, the JV boys are focused on building confidence and consistency for the weeks to come.
Winning in the day;
Logan Debo and Ryder Southern
Henry Remington and Steven McFalda
Carson Carmona and Zach Richardson.
Go Bobcats!!

Our girls golf team took to the course on Friday vs Ogemaw Heights. They had a good time at the new and improving Bay Valley for the first dual of the year. We all like the Things that Make You Smile moments on the course. We had a couple today. Kahlan hit the flag stick on the par 3 Hole 5, which led to a birdie! Olivia had a birdie on hole 4. And Alli decided to get her feet wet on hole 8. Alli said she wasn't going to take a penalty shot if she can avoid it...so the shoes and socks came off and she climbed on it and proceeded to hit a nice shot up in front of the green!

Bobcats Sweep Caro in Dominant Season Opener
The John Glenn Bobcats Boys Tennis team opened their 2025 campaign in commanding fashion on Friday night, sweeping the Caro Tigers 8-0 on their newly renovated home courts.

Coming off a historic 2024 season where the Bobcats qualified for the State Tournament for the first time in program history, the squad appears poised to build on last yearβs success. Coach Millerβs team looks sharp and focused, sending a clear message that the Bobcats are ready for another record-breaking run.
βThis was a great way to start the year,β Coach Miller said. βThe boys came out strong and really set the tone for the season.β

SOCCER: WIN AND MILESTONE FOR GLENN
Goals come in bunches for Asher Clark.
And heβs had a bunch of bunches in his stunning high school career.
With a four-goal performance in a season-opening 5-1 win over Holly, the John Glenn soccer wizard reached the 100-goal mark one game into his senior year.
βHe had a pretty exciting day to put himself in that category,β Glenn coach Brian Scherzer said. βThatβs a huge accomplishment and weβre super proud of him.β
Clark led Bay County with 47 regular season goals a year ago. He sits 59 goals behind Ty Richards for the Glenn career record of 159.
The Bobcats picked up where they left off a season ago, when they won a program-best 24 games and captured their first district title. Landen Beson Montoya came through with a goal while Ben Cleland, Paul Nori, Justin Wingeier, Barrett Yaklin and Clark notched assists.
Ethan Boyk was strong in goal with six saves while Cleland fronted the defense.
βWe had some first-game bugs to work out,β Scherzer said. βBut we played better and got it rolling. A lot of good things came out of today.β
