PRESTON PUDVAN, TRI-VALLEY THUNDER
The first-year Tri-Valley Thunder hockey program has a go-to scorer in Pudvan. The senior from John Glenn has been on a tear with a seven-game point streak, tallying eight goals and three assists over that stretch. βHeβs an alternate captain with excellent hockey and leadership skills,β coach Paul Engelberts said. A volunteer youth hockey coach, Pudvan lettered the past three years with the Bay Area Thunder.
RUBEN RIVERA, JOHN GLENN
Rivera etched his name in history by winning his fourth Bay County Wrestling Championship crown while helping the Bobcats to the team title. Rivera rolled to a 4-0 record at 113 pounds to become just the 12th wrestler to become a four-time champion. βFirst and foremost, Ruben is a leader,β coach Matt Bishop said. βHe does the right things in practice. Heβs pushing the pace. When heβs drilling with the younger guys, heβs making them better. Heβs a positive force in our room.β Rivera is a three-time state qualifier for the Bobcats.
Congratulations to both of the nominees! Way to go BOBCATS πΎ

John Glenn Varsity Girls Basketball: Friday Dec 13, 2024:
Glenn 40
SVββββ37
In a thrilling finish, Swan Valley mounted a late comeback, tying the game at 37-37 with 2:15 remaining. However, our team stayed poised, showcasing their growth through strong communication and composure in crunch time. Aubrey Mooreβs clutch steal and layup, followed by a key free throw, sealed the 40-37 victory. Senior Fiona Meisel delivered an inspiring performance, battling through the flu to score a game-high 16 points. Aubrey Moore added 10, and Allie Gabel chipped in 9, including 3 crucial threes. With the win, they improved to 3-1 on the season and 1-1 in league play.
John Glenn Boys Basketball played at Swan Valley Friday and worked their way to a 41-29 win. They played extremely hard and very well on defense., limited their 2 leading scorers to 4 points total tonight. They were relentless on defense, and never stopped going. Offensively tonight it was contributions from everyone. Caleb Seafert led the team in scoring with 10, Jimmy McCrum and Hayden Ruff each had 8 and Danzell Calhoun added 6. The effort on defense is what won them this game. Coach Clyde tells the kids all the time that "defense is the one thing that travels! Some nights you are going to struggle putting the ball in the basket, but defense can be the tone setter each game!" Tonight it was the difference and it flat out won them the game! They had 2 difficult road games this week, and they're very happy to get the win and finish the game strong. After the first quarter they only allowed 5 made baskets over the next 3 quarters. And that is excellent! Boys basketball are off until next Friday when John Glenn hosts Alma.
It's a doubleheader type of Friday folks π We are on the road for tonight's match up! Our Lady Bobcats are scheduled to tipoff at 5:30 at Swan Valley and the Guys tipoff at 7:00! Come fill the stands as the Bobcats face the Vikings!
