To honor our 8th-grade class, we will be holding a drive-thru clap out on: Thursday, June 4 at 6:00 P.M. Parents will line up in their vehicles in the parent drop off loop and the main parking lot starting at 5:45. The clap out will start promptly at 6:00. Families should follow the vehicle in front of them starting in the parent drop off loop, then head through the bus lane, and exiting at the drive between CMMS and JGHS. All students and families will stay in their vehicles while teachers honor social distancing guidelines along the sidewalk between CMMS and JGHS. This event is only for 8th-grade families and CMMS staff. No family members, friends, or staff should line up along Kiesel Road or exit vehicles at any point during the event. We look forward to celebrating our awesome student’s accomplishments!

We wanted to provide a couple of clarifying details regarding locker clean outs at CMMS: 1. There will not be access to gym lockers or items in classrooms during this time. We want to make the process as quick and efficient as possible and get people in and out. We are hoping to have students be able to come into the building to clean out gym lockers and get items left in classrooms after June 13th. 2. Due to the stay at home orders our yearbook company and photography company have been unable to print and deliver our yearbooks and athletic pictures. If they get delivered before the locker clean out days we will have them available for you to pick up. 3. There will be bins under the main entrance awning for you to drop of any and all school items. This includes textbooks, library books, sheet music, athletic uniforms, etc. 4. Yes, everyone must have a mask or cloth that covers the mouth and nose to enter the building. No exceptions on this expectation. This is for the safety of our staff and everyone else that is entering the building on these days. If you have any additional questions about locker clean out please email Principal Kevin Biskup at biskupk@bangorschools.org

Even though we are in uncharted waters in education right now, we are still going to hold true to one of our building awards and traditions in the Ed Mueller Award. The Ed Mueller Award is the most prestigious award that can be given to an 8th grade student. This award is given to one 8th grade boy and one 8th grade girl each year. The award is given to students that are overall good citizens of CMMS, is a good student (not necessarily an all A student), and a student who has contributed to the positive culture at CMMS. We will be announcing the nominees for the Ed Mueller award during a special live streaming event tomorrow (Tuesday) at 6pm on our CMMS Facebook Page. Tune in tomorrow to hear the list of nomineess. The one boy and one girl that are chosen as the award recipients will be announced in a similar format later this week. See you tomorrow at 6pm.

** Let’s help our Bangor Twp own Ms. Bay County Larkin Hubert!😊 Hi everyone, my name is Larkin Hubert and I am the current Miss Bay County and a proud alumni of Bangor Township schools. During this period of social distancing I have been focusing on how to inform others about my social impact initiative “BeYOUtiful; A Confidence Mission” which is centered around connecting your mental health and passions in life to find true self love. I wanted to ask you guys to help me with a little a project I’m doing for my miss bay county account. I was hoping that you could send me a picture of yourself holding up a piece of paper that says one of the three things: “I feel most confident when....” “I love myself because...” “..... makes me confident” And then you’d fill in the blanks. I would just need these by the end of the day Sunday. I’m really excited about this so if you’re interested you can email me your pictures here and follow my accounts on Facebook and Instagram: @missbaycounty to see the project all come together! Thank you to anyone who is willing to participate.

This is just a friendly reminder that distance learning packets will continue to be available tomorrow (Friday) only at John Glenn from 10:00 to 12:00. After tomorrow all packets will be available at the Edison Administration building from 9:00 to 3:00, Monday through Friday. There is only one set of packets for middle school students so if you have already picked one up this week, you are all set for the remainder of the school year. Please reach out to your child's individual teachers if you need additional support or enrichment/supplemental resources and materials.

Hello Bobcat Families. As we navigate this unique time we are in, we are creating new ways to gather information for our students for the next year's schedule. We have sent an email to all current CMMS families, as well as our incoming 5th grade students with a link for next year's schedule questionnaire. We are asking that you have your child fill out the attached document to give feedback on selections they may desire for next year. We are asking that all documents be completed by noon on April 24. If you are unable to access email, you may stop by Edison between the hours of 9am-3pm to complete a hard copy and place it in a drop box. If you have questions, please feel free to contact me at gouletteb@bangorschools.org.

Here is the latest update regarding the 8th grade trip to Washington D.C. Dear Parents, We want to make an announcement that will help clarify today's earlier email.  Let's start with the good news!  The trip to DC has been rescheduled for September 9-13, 2020.  We are thrilled that these students will get to enjoy the trip they have waited for all year.  We tried to find the best possible date to reschedule our trip, but we understand that the new dates may still conflict with fall sports and other extra-curricular activities.  The fall athletic schedules are posted on our website, but please keep in mind that additional games/contests could be added to fill out a schedule for a particular sport.   Now that a decision has been made as to the status of our trip, Student Adventures will be in contact with you soon providing more information.  Please look for that email and hopefully that will answer some of the questions that were sent earlier today.

**ATTENTION 8th GRADE STUDENTS AND PARENTS** Good Morning, We just wanted to pass along to you the latest information we received from our travel consultant regarding the postponed 8th grade trip to Washington D.C.  The information below only applies if you are not planning on attending the trip for the rescheduled date that will take place in late summer or early fall (we are still waiting to secure an exact date for the trip to be rescheduled).  For those that will not be going on the trip and would like a refund the company will now refund 75% of the total cost of the trip for those that did not purchase travel insurance.  Please see the message below for more information: Student Adventures offices are closed because of the governor's executive order to stay in place.  Parents can contact us thru email at info@studentadventures.org and we will respond to them.   Those who purchased the CSP (Cancellation Super Protection) will receive a full refund.   That is the same as it has been.  The update I have for you is in regards to those who did not purchase the CSP.  Student Adventures has instituted our own program called the COVID-19 Virus Protection policy where we are refunding 75% of the total trip price.  This is up from the 50% guaranteed early last week.  Every student under the CVP program would receive all but $184.25.   *Any additional fees such as NSF, credit card charges, late fees, or other fees that were incurred on an any individual account will not be refunded. One of the many services provided by Student Adventures while planning the trip over the course of this year, includes reserving transportation, hotels and various other venues to ensure that the trip flows seamlessly. We enter into contracts and pay out many non-refundable deposits in order to secure reservations with the best rates for our schools. Another part of the service provided is that as we receive funds, they are paid out on your behalf, to ensure that reservations are held. We are at the mercy of contractual obligations and requesting refunds from vendors that have been paid in full in order to issue refunds.  Again, the reason we cannot refund 100% to everyone is that certain funds were paid out on the school's behalf to various vendors who are NOT returning cash to us, only credit. We ask for your patience as these refunds are issued, we are inundated with refund requests and doing our best to expedite this process. Please email any questions to info@studentadventures.org Again, we thank you for your patience with this process. Student Adventures
