Covenant HealthCare Volunteer Services is now accepting applications for the Summer 2023 session of our High School Volunteer Program. Students may apply online, www.covenanthealthcare.com/volunteer. Please forward this information to any high school student who may be interested in the healthcare field and/or volunteer experience this summer. Application deadline is March 31, 2023.
Students will have an opportunity to experience a medical center atmosphere and interact with nurses, physicians and technologists throughout the organization. Students will be able to volunteer as a Patient Ambassador as well as serve in opportunities with pharmacy, physical medicine & rehabilitation, and emergency care. We also have non-clinical volunteer areas available such as patient discharges, mail delivery, clerical support, and the gift shop. This program would be an opportunity to meet requirements for volunteer service for high school and college and we offer this program every summer.
Students need to be 16 years of age by September 1 of this year with a 3.0 grade point or higher. Participants in the High School Volunteer Program will be asked to complete a 2-step TB Screening and follow hospital guidelines for COVID-19 vaccine or approved exemption. Volunteers complete 40 hours of service in 10 weeks, June through August of this year. More details about the program will be available after the student applies. For more information, please contact Volunteer Services, volunteering@chs-mi.com.
