GABRIELLA MEZEY, JOHN GLENN
The junior has been a rock for the John Glenn softball team, coming through with her glove, her bat and her pitching whenever called upon. She erupted in a stunning doubleheader performance against Vassar, clouting two home runs among six hits and a whopping 12 RBIs. “She has been tearing it up all season and is a big reason why we are succeeding in the games that we win,” coach John Busch said. “She has been a force.” The shortstop recently made a verbal commitment to Aquinas College.
Way to go Gabby 🥎

CADINCE PHILOPULOS, JOHN GLENN
It hasn’t been an easy road for the senior with the John Glenn softball team, but she has stuck with it and is coming through with a strong farewell campaign. Philopulos has battled through injuries to be an impact player for the Bobcats. She came through with her first varsity home run then knocked another line drive off the fence in a doubleheader with Freeland. “After what she has gone through the last two years physically, I was happy to see her have a game like she did,” coach John Busch said. The center fielder went 4-for-5 with eight RBIs in the doubleheader.

The students were only in school for half of the day on Monday but the campus at JG was full of action in the afternoon and into the evening. The Lady Bobcats were making the best of a beautiful afternoon on their home softball field with two wins VS Bad Axe. At the same time the Lady Bobcats soccer program took on the Falcons from Freeland in a two tough games. They played hard but come up short in both the JV and Varsity contests. Way to play hard out there team! Your Lady Bobcats Tennis team ended up back on their home courts for their match up vs Ithaca. They improved their match record to an impressive 6 wins and 2 losses after taking on the "Yellowjackets" of Ithaca and coming away with a match play win of 8 to 0. Every flight this evening came away with a victory. Over on the turf the Lacrosse team took on a team from Lapeer in a very physical and hard fought contest. They come up short in the end with a 4-7 final score! Way to be tough guys 💪

The time is here! Football signups for the 2024 season. Please read all this information I will be providing. This is for all players who are going into 4th grade through 8th grade for the 2024/2025 school year.
We are doing something different this year. Bangor Bobcats youth football is now officially a 501C3 (Nonprofit).
We purchased around 19,000 dollars' worth of equipment last year and placed an order this year for just about 15,000 dollars. Like last year we purchased more helmets and shoulder pads. Now we will be able to stop renting the gray Hemelts form the BAYFL.
This is officially our 6th year, and every year are numbers have increased, and now we should finally have enough equipment, and plus have some extras if we need them.
Thank you to all those who have fundraised in years past and to those who will again help us equip our players with the best equipment to keep them safe.
Here is the cost to play football this year.
Player Fee: $25.00 dollars
Jersey Fee (if you need them): $70.00 dollars for two or 35 each. If you have them from last year no need to purchase jerseys.
Fundraising: If you choose to fundraise (this decision will be made at signups) you will be provided with a scratch off card that has 20 spots on it. Each spot sells for 10 dollars each (total 200). Then you will scratch off the card and see who the winner is. To the winner goes 100 dollars and to the program goes 100 dollars. This will be turned in prior to equipment handout.
If you choose that you don't want to fundraise the cost at signups to opt out is 100.00 dollars.
Then as a program will be doing 1 group fundraiser to be announced at first practice.
Potential cost: This can cost anywhere from 25 dollars to 195 dollars to play depends on if you need jerseys, and if you want to fundraise.

Recap of the girls soccer game on Monday April 29th from Coach Kraft
John Glenn defeated Swan Valley in Girls Soccer Action Last night. It was a physical contest on difficult field conditions. John Glenn got on the board first when Ella Wallaker took a pass from Nora Goaley and rifled a shot in the back of the net from about 25 yards out. Glenn would go up by two a short time later, capitalizing on a free kick that Wallaker served across the field to G. Beson who placed the ball in the opposite corner of the net. Goalie Piper Cluckey made 9 saves in preserving the shut out for the Bobcats.
Thank you Coach Kraft and WAY TO GO BOBCATS ⚽ Great team effort!

One of our athletes is up for MLive's Athlete of The Week!! Cast your vote for Bella as often as you’d like until the poll closes at 12:01 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2024.
BELLA SNYDER, JOHN GLENN
An unsung standout for the John Glenn girls soccer team, her efforts don’t go unnoticed by her teammates or the opposition. The sophomore splits time between defense and midfield, taking on any challenges sent her way. “She is fearless,” coach Matt Kraft said. “She will play with speed or she will physically engage strong players and endure a physical battle all game. She also brings a positive attitude and relentless optimism to the field. Bella won’t see her name in the scoresheet or highlights very often, but the stable role she plays is critical to the team’s success on both offense and defense.” Snyder not only has a knack for locking down opponents on defense but for starting her team’s attack.
