Bay City John Glenn girls had their first two regional qualifiers today at Montrose. In our first season, with 9 brand new wrestlers, the bobcats qualified two to next weekends regional championships. Gracie Fernette was our first district Champion at 115 pounds and Brayde Smith finish 4th at 115. It was a great day. The girls won and lost battles, but they came to fight. They wrestled very well and our coaches could not be more proud of this first season. Congrats ladies on a successful first postseason tournament.

Weekend bowling update: The Bobcats bowled against Valley Lutheran on Saturday the boys and girls both won their matches completing undefeated seasons and winning conference Championships. Noteables: Nathan Schmidt 203 game Haylee Timm 166 game Caeli Schultz 172 game Lauren Johnson 180 game Sunday in the New Lothrup Singles Challenge. All bowlers bowled 6 games of qualifying before the fields are cut to the top 16 in each division. In the second game of qualifying Nathan Gwizdala rolled the first 300 game of his career. After qualifying: Nathan Gwizdala 3rd averaging 229 Cody Miner 15th averaging 189 Lauren Johnson 3rd averaging 178 Lacy Jamrog 12th averaging 158 Caeli Schultz 14th averaging 155 Nathan and Lauren both made the All Tournament Team. In the top 16 brackets Lacy lost in the first round while Caeli defeated Lauren 226-198 Caeli lost in the round of 8 by a score of 235-208 Cody lost his first match wile Nathan won his first two matches and finished in 4th place. The Bay City John Glenn girls competed at Midland today. It was a challenging tournament with many of the state’s ranked wrestlers. The girls had a good showing competing hard in their matches. The day was highlighted by Liya Bossbach who finished fourth. Vivian Arnold had a fifth place finish. Brayde Smith finished sixth. The girls are definitely ready to compete at the individual district in Montrose next Sunday.

Bobcat lady ballers get the win! JG 58 Ogemaw 15 Scoring: Aubrey Moore 14 pts (11 in 1st quarter), 11 assists Fiona Meisel & Allie Gabel 9 pts each Lillian Masters & Remy Polzin 6 pts each We came out strong tonight right from the start. We were very unselfish with the basketball tonight and it was a great team win! Defensively we moved our feet a whole lot better and getting better there. Player quote, Ellie Schwall: We played more as a team and we are moving better in our offense. We are communicating better defensively and not fouling as much and being more discipline.

Results are in!! 📣 To say these kids had a great meet is an understatement. Weekend Bowling Roundup: Saturday at Valley Lanes in Midland the Bobcats took on the Eagles from Frankenmuth. The girls defeated Frankenmuth 29-1. Noteables: Lauren Johnson 187 Caeli Schultz 170 On the boys side the Bobcats defeated the reigning division 3 state champions. The match ended 15-15, they had to go to the total pins of all games to decide the winner. The Bobcats had knocked down 12 pins more than the eagles. The Bobcats were led by a stunning performance from Tyson Cwicklinski. With his 160 average he recorded games of 231 and 224 for a 455 series. Nathan Gwizdala paced the boys with 473 series on games of 216 and 247. With two matches to go both teams remain undefeated on top of the standings. Sunday at the Swartz Creek Dragon Singles 130 boys and 78 girls took to the lanes for 4 games of qualifying before each field was cut to the top 32. Nathan Gwizdala qualified 14th on the boys side while Caeli Schultz was 11th and Lauren Johnson was 24th in the girls. In the first elimination round Caeli and Nathan were eliminated as Lauren moved on. Lauren won in the round of 16 before falling in the round of 8.
