This Friday night football was not the only sport taking place at John Glenn.The Bobcat Boys Tennis team took advantage of the Friday Night Marching Band Music, the football crowds walking past the tennis courts, and AC/DC music blaring from within "John Loop" stadium and rode the "School Spirit" strong, taking on the Dukes of Garber tonight. In the end "Bobcat Spirit" prevailed as the Bobcats took down Garber by a match score of 6 to 2. Your Bobcat Boys are now posting a 9 win, 2 loss, and 1 tie season and sit proudly in 1st place in their Conference. Kiera Inda is John Glenn's Female Student Athlete of The Week for September 11th Through September 15th. Kiera is a 4 year Varsity player that has held the #1 spot for 3 of those years. She's dedicated herself to the game and has shown great strides over the years. She is the back-to-back Bay County Championship medalist. Her 81 this year was the 4th lowest score in the Bay County Championship history, that dates back to its origin in 1997. She was 2nd team all conference her 9th and 10th grade years.

Garrett Forgash is John Glenn's Male Student Athlete of The Week For September 11th Through September 15th. Garett is a leader on the field and in the classroom where is is a member of the National Honor Society. He had an incredible 18 tackle performance against Frankenmuth last week and continues to play at a very high level week in and week out. He is a captain on our team and a 3 year Varsity starter. He is also a member of the wrestling and golf teams. Garett is a three sport athlete that puts in the work that it takes to excel at all of them. His work ethic and character continue to lead our culture in the right direction.

The Lady Bobcats welcomed the Irish from Notre Dame Prep tonight. It was a close meet with JG scoring 85 points and Notre Dame scoring 95. The girls dropped times in many events and showed their Bobcat Pride. Jayna Darbee won the 50 Free (26.76) and 100 Free (58.24), Kate Cataline won diving (137.25), and Lola Fisher won the 100 Breast (1:21.84) Photos compliments of Erica Meisel.

Coach Miller took some of his Bobcat Tennis players to Midland this evening to take on players from Bay City Western and Midland High School. Playing 8 game pro-sets the Bobcat Boys held their own on the tennis courts in Midland. Winning on the day were: Corbin Sanborn & Hendricks Austin. 8 to 6 Hank Branaman & Patrick Dwan. 8 to 1 Thomas Dwan. 8 to 3 The Boys Varsity Tennis Team next match is at home next Thursday against Garber!

It took almost 3 hours to complete the matches today, but in the end the Bobcats came away with a 5 to 3 match win raising their match record this year to a very strong 8 wins against 2 losses! The Bobcat Boys Tennis Team took part in their 2nd Quad Match of this season. They battled Sandusky, Croswell-Lexington, and Yale schools for over 6 hours today. They boys played hard and came within 2 points of taking down the eventual winner, Yale. Match results: Yale 40 points Glenn 38 points Sandzdky 18 points Croswell. 6 points Coach Miller was quoted "Even though we didn't come out on top, all of the boys played "Amazing!" Every Bobcat Boy took home a medal in their flight, and 6 out of 12 Bobcats were unbeaten on the day at 3 wins and 0 losses". Congratulations to the Lady Bobcats on winning the first ever Bay County Swimming & Diving Championships. Glenn posted 9 first place finishes and scored 495 points.

The John Glenn Girls Swimming & Diving kicked off their season with the 22nd annual Bobcat Pentathlon on Friday. With 8 teams from the area competing, our girls posted some fast times and had 5 girls finish in the top 10! Up next is the Bay County Swimming & Diving Championships!

Today on the courts of Delta College the Bobcat Boys Tennis Team battled Western, Clio, and Alpena.The Bobcat Boys came away with a very impressive showing, coming within one point of taking down a very strong Alpena team. Coach Miller was quoted "This was my 1st match as a Head Coach and these boys did not disappoint me.
