John Glenn JV Girls Tennis Ends Season with 8 match wins Over Bay City Central The John Glenn High School JV girls tennis team wrapped up their season in style, taking the courts at Jopke and serving up 8 dual match wins over the Wolves of Bay City Central. Let’s just say… the only thing more consistent than their forehands was their winning streak. Match Highlights: Singles ace Sophia Lucio and the doubles dream team Ava Schlicht & Myla Fraim didn’t even let their opponents think about winning a game, cruising to 6-0 victories. They were basically human tennis ball machines—with better hair. Match Winners (aka Tennis Royalty) of the Day: Kate Petrowski & Joy McMurphy – teamwork makes the dream work Pearl Norton & Evelyn Gruber – doubles trouble Ava Schlicht & Myla Fraim – undefeated and unbothered Kinzie Rezmer & Mary Gruber – rackets of steel Bailey Taylor & Sophia Smith – smooth swings and winning things Sophia Lucio – a one-woman tennis tornado Brooke Mosher – steady, strong, and serving up W’s Coach Miller was all smiles (and probably a little hoarse from cheering), saying: "We carried a strong 28 girls on JV this year, and every single girl got to play in dual match play! I’m very proud of each and every girl and how they contributed this year. The future of John Glenn Tennis looks good." Translation: These girls crushed it, and next year’s varsity better watch their backs. John Glenn Girls soccer continued it's winning ways as they closed out conference play against Swan Valley on Monday. The Lady Bobcats once again limited to 13 players by injury and sickness also had to overcome the warm temperatures for the first time this season with limited substitutions. The Bobcats had a lot of shots in the first half but had a hard time getting the ball on frame after the first quick goal. The three leading scorers for the Bobcats teams up for that first goals on a three touch give and go from Carli Johnson to Bella Snyder to Ella Wallaker who found the corner of the net. The next 20 minutes the bobcats had chance after chance but was not quite able to get another goal to fall. Swan valley was able to send a long pass and the striker sprinter past the Defense for a 1 to 1 tie..with the regular team leaders having a bit of an of an off night, the team had some new leaders step up just as they have done all season when the team something. The Bobcats tallied three quick goals after the swan valley goal to go into half 4-1. Freshman Aubrey Moore scored her first and second varsity goal in a matter of minutes, one assisted by Freshman Ayla Gunn and One assisted from Maya Johnson. Maya Johnson added the fourth goal on a pass from Moore. In the second half the Bobcats continued to dominate possession but a couple long balls out lead to transition goals by Swan valley and the score was 4-3. The Bobcats would once again refocus and take back momentum with solid possession that led to a goal by Ayla Gunn assisted by Nora Goaley and then Goaley would.get one of her own a few minutes later on an assist from Ella Wallaker, making the final score 6-3. Fiona Meisel made 5 Saves on 8 shots to get the win.

Over the weekend the John Glenn Girls Soccer team continued to roll at the Hatchet Invitational in Bad Axe by posting three more wins on their way to capturing the tournament title. In game one The Bobcats blanked USA 6-0 behind a complete offensive and defensive effort that saw Glenn not surrender a single shot on goal. Junior Carli Johnson led the way on offense with a hat trick and two assists. Ella Wallaker continued her consecutive game goal streak by netting 2 and adding an assist. Freshman Ayla Gunn finished the scoring on am assist from fellow freshman Quinn Lang. Nora Goaley pitched in with 2 assists while Addisyn Dodge and Mariam Tacey each recorded 1 helper. Game 2 saw the Bobcats victorious again over Bad Axe 2-1. Once again limiting the opposition to very few looks at the goal. Ella Wallaker scored to put Glenn up 1-0 on an assist from Carli Johnson but soon after Bad Axe would take advantage of a strange restart off of an injury to make one of their 4 shots on goal count to tie the score. In the final 3 minutes Carli Johnson would find the back of the net off a pass from Freshman Maya Johnson to give the Bobcats the lead 2-1 and the win. Fiona Meisel would make 3 saves for victory in goal. The championship game was a rematch from 2 days before with Conference rival Freeland and the result would be the same. In the first half Carli Johnson would net yet another goal on assist from Ella Wallaker to make the score 1-0 and the second half Wallaker would put the game out reach on a goal assisted by Ayla Gunn. Fiona Meisel would make 6 saves to secure the shutout and the title for John Glenn.

BOBCATS SOFTBALL GETS THE SWEEP! With the Superintendent in attendance, we are able to get a sweep of Coleman! A team that swept us last year. Thank you Dr. Schmidt and everyone else for coming out to watch us today.

John Glenn Girls soccer stayed in the win column by defeating Freeland 2-0 at home on Thursday night, The high winds made the attack difficult at times but the Glenn defense continues to gel and limited Freeland chances while consistently putting the ball back into transition. The Bobcats started the scoring halfway through the first half when Maya Johnson's hard work along the touchline drew a foul and Ella Wallaker scored on the free kick from 30 yards out. The game would remain 1-0 for the rest of the half and the.majority of the second half until Brayde Smith made a run after a pinch from the defense and set up a quick counter to Bella Snyder who then slid a one touch pass to Wallaker who took a shot and buried it in the back of the net for her second goal. That would end the scoring. Keeper Fiona Meisel recorded her second consecutive shut out making 6 saves.

Lady Bobcats Dominate on Senior Night with 6–2 Victory The John Glenn High School Lady Bobcats tennis team delivered a powerful performance on Senior Night, securing a 6–2 match win over the Caro High School Tigers. All seven senior players walked away with victories, making the night especially memorable. The standout match of the evening featured the #4 Doubles team, Pearl Norton and Grace Weidner, who battled through a thrilling marathon that ended in a dramatic 7-point tie-breaker win. Their grit and determination set the tone for a night of celebration and strong play. Coach Miller praised the team's historic accomplishment, saying, "This was the first time ever that all of our Senior Ladies had victories on Senior Night! These Lady Bobcats will be missed." John Glenn Girls Soccer notched another win at home on Monday night with a 6-0.win over Alma. The Bobcats controlled the play from start to finish only allowing Alma into their half of the field a few times and limiting them to only 2 shots on goal and no scoring chances. The challenging wind, a block defense and an excellent effort by the Alma goalkeeper kept the game scoreless at halftime despite 17 shots on goal by the bobcats..but In the second half Glenn was able to spread the defenders out and and move the ball at will from right left and find plenty of open lanes to explode for five goals in 20 minutes. They would add a late goal with players shifting around into new positions. Carli Johnson had 2 goals and 2 assists,.Ella Wallaker had 2 goals and 3 assists, Isabella Snyder had 1 goal and 3 assists and Freshman Quinn Lang scored her first Varsity Goal. Fiona Meisel and Brayde Smith collaborated for shut out.

John Glenn Girls Soccer got back in the win column Thursday night in Frankenmuth.. Glenn got on the board first when Ella Wallaker buried a penalty kick halfway through the first half after Freshman Ayla Gunn darted into the box and was taken down from behind..That would be all the scoring in the first half. Second half would see a back and forth game and Frankenmuth took momentum and scored two goals in 4 minutes to take the lead 2-1. After that the lady Bobcats would do what they have done all season, refocus and play physical possession soccer and retake the games momentum. After several scoring chances were near misses, Ella Walllaker sent a perfectly placed corner kick to Bella Snyder who headed the ball into the goal for the tying score. Five minutes later Wallaker found Snyder again on a through ball between the center defenders the resulted in a breakaway goal giving Glenn the 3-2 lead. That's how the game would end. Keeper Fiona Meisel made 16 saves for John Glenn. The win brings Glenn to a 9-4-1 overall record. They will go for double digit wins vs Alma on Monday

"JV Lady Bobcats Serve Up Wins in Rivalry Rumble with Garber" The John Glenn JV Lady Bobcats tennis team faced off against their crosstown rivals, the Garber Dukes, in a showdown that had more twists than a spaghetti noodle. Tensions were high, rackets were ready, and ponytails were flying. The Bobcats clawed their way to several impressive victories, but the highlight of the match came from the freshman doubles team of Giselle Coon and Harper Jackson. These two brought the drama, grit, and a whole lot of heart in a match that seemed to last longer than a family vacation car ride. At one point, they played a game with eleven deuce points. That’s right—eleven! It felt like it might never end, but somehow Giselle and Harper pulled off the win, pushing their match into an epic tiebreaker. Fans were gasping, teammates were cheering, and Coach Miller may have aged three years in that single game. “Giselle and Harper played their hearts out on that court tonight—as did every Lady Bobcat,” Coach Miller said, possibly while holding back tears of joy (or exhaustion). “I am so proud of how hard our JV team has worked this year.” Winners on the day were: Pearl Norton Evelyn Gruber Payton Schabel Maci Betzold Chelsie Voss Go Bobcats!!
