Attention CMMS Cross Country Runners.... Practice will be held on Friday at 3:30 PM outside of the JGHS track area. Next week (week of August 26th) the team will practice right after school at 2:45pm. Practices will generally last an hour and fifteen minutes. CMMS Cross Country runners compete in a 2 mile race and this sport is open to ALL grades. There are very few sports open to 6th graders so this can be a great way to start the year. This is also a great off season conditioning sport for any athlete without a fall sport. Over the course of the season runners will race 8 times. There is no cost to participate. Students must have a valid physical uploaded to their Final Forms account and they should have comfortable running shoes. If you have any questions, please contact Coach Lind at lindt@bangorschools.org.

2024-2025 CMMS Fall Orientation Details!

Hello CMMS Families! This message is for any grade 6-8 student at CMMS interested in playing COED soccer for the fall 2024 season.
We have close to 45 athletes already for the 2024 COED soccer season, so we will be developing two teams. The other teams that we will be playing include Standish Sterling MS, Cramer MS, State Street Academy and Bay City Academy for a total of 6 teams in our league. Our two teams will be the BTFC Bobcat Crew and the BTFC Bobcat Force.
Here is the important information:
β’ If you have not previously filled out the survey to give me basic athlete information, you can do that here: Basic Information Survey
β’ Optional Open Soccer: These are opportunities to get the athletes more touches on the ball to improve footwork and skills. Sessions are July 22nd, and 23rd from 4-5:30PM @ JGHS.
β’ Tryouts: This will help the coach separate players by skill. Tryouts will be held on Wednesday the 24th of July from 4-5:30PM. All players will make one of the two teams, and rosters will be released on July 25th.
β’ Coach: We will have two coaches (one for each team). I will announce our other coach as soon as I have approval from the athletic department.
β’ Practices: There will be a week of practices from July 29th-August 1st from 4-5:30PM at JGHS each day. After that week, practices will be Monday and Wednesday from 4-5:30PM.
β’ Games: Played every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 6PM in August beginning on Tuesday the 6th.
β’ Tournament: There will be a 6-team tournament with a championship, 2nd and 3rd place ceremony taking place on Sunday August 25th.
β’ Jerseys: Families will purchase jerseys from the football club that include jersey, shorts and socks, and will become the property of the athlete to keep.
β’ Banquet (TBD): End of year pizza party @ CMMS with awards.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Coach Albrecht at albrechtj@bangorschools.org.
Thank you!
