💻AI Integration Team💻
At the start of the school year, staff were introduced to the idea of a district-wide AI Integration Team with the goal of incorporating artificial intelligence into our work in a helpful and responsible way. The opportunity sparked strong interest across the district, with many teachers eager to get involved - resulting in nearly one-third of our teaching staff joining the team. Members have met monthly since September to explore innovative tools, enhance daily workflows, and identify meaningful ways AI can support teaching and learning in their classrooms.
In January, several team members traveled to the Future of Education Technology Conference (FETC) in Orlando, where they not only attended sessions to gather valuable insights and resources but also had the opportunity to present. The team returned energized, proud to learn that our district is already ahead of many educational institutions in AI integration, and excited to bring back new ideas.
The AI Integration Team is currently developing district-wide guidelines to support students, staff, and families as we continue to use technology thoughtfully and responsibly. We are grateful for their leadership and commitment to preparing our school community for the future!

At last night's Board of Education meeting, Bangor West extended a special thank you to our board members. In honor of Board of Education Appreciation Month, students created thank you cards, a special banner and a fun video thanking our board for all of their hard work and dedication. It was a very sweet surprise!

Today in Mr. Willey's SmartLab, students were given five inches of duct tape, eight flexy straws, a pair of scissors and their imagination. They developed a plan, and executed their plan in a mission to build the highest freestanding structure they could. Current leader is 45 inches tall!
